INDIANAPOLIS – On Tuesday, Governor Holcomb and the Indiana Economic Development Corporation announced this year’s winners of Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative grants. The South Bend-Elkhart community was one of five regions awarded the maximum amount of $50 million. State Senator David Niezgodski (D-South Bend) released the following statement;

“I am so proud of and excited for our region. Receiving the maximum grant amount in such a competitive pool of applicants is a testament to just how dedicated our community members are to making lasting, positive change. The key investments we’ll be making in talent attraction and retention, job creation, and local business and industry will transform our region and enhance citizens’ quality of life.

“I’m so grateful to everyone who worked on this, and hope our Legislature will consider making additional READI funding available for regions who fell short of their goal. I can’t wait to see how we use these funds to build up our community.”
