Yesterday, I had the honor of speaking at the Portage Memorial Day and McCool Cemetery Memorial Day Services. Thank you to Trustee Brendan Clancy for his amazing work on the veterans’ memorial and to Mayor Bonta and all of the city employees, members of the American Legion and Exchange Club members who gave up their holiday to make it all happen. These services remember not only the Hoosiers who have fought for freedom but all who have bravely served our nation.![]()

It was a moving tribute to the sacrifices made by so many in defense of our country and a reminder of the deep gratitude we owe to our veterans and their families. Let us never forget the price of our freedoms and continue to honor those who gave everything for them.![]()

I’ve spent a good amount of time this weekend knocking doors in Portage, enough to get a pretty red neck yesterday! Today, I hit doors in the cool rain with Rep. Chuck Moseley to personally invite the community to our town hall next weekend and answer any questions they had about this year’s session and what we could do for them. We got a great response! See you guys next weekend.
Thank you to the students and staff at Portage and Michigan City High Schools for the warm welcome! I had the pleasure of speaking with students about the legislation they care about most. It’s incredibly encouraging to see young people so civically engaged and eager to make a difference. Staying informed, participating in government and developing a strong moral compass are essential steps in shaping the next generation of thoughtful, impactful leaders. #INForAll
