Senate Democratic Leader Tim Lanane (D-Anderson) released the following statement following Governor Holcomb’s veto of Senate Enrolled Act (SEA) 148:
“I applaud the governor for his veto of SEA 148. He is correct that enacting such legislation would rip local control away from our cities and towns and their efforts to protect tenants. In the midst of this pandemic, we have to make sure that local communities have the freedom to use their resources to keep Hoosiers in their homes. The rejection of this proposal sends a message to all Hoosiers that they can feel safe within their homes, and big state government won’t get in their way.”
