Sen. Melton had the following response to his new leadership position:
“I value the leadership we’ve had this past four years, and I’m excited to serve in this new capacity alongside Senator Taylor and Senator JD Ford as we move into the 2021 legislative session,” Sen. Melton said. “This next General Assembly is going to be extremely important in getting some vital legislation passed.
“Citizens throughout Indiana are facing a host of issues from economic hardship and housing instability to racial injustice, and I’m ready to help take our caucus to the next level to fight on behalf of all Hoosiers. My caucus and I have already begun drafting legislation to address the issues Hoosiers have faced this year. In the coming days, I’ll also be announcing my personal agenda I’ll be advancing next session to help residents in my district and across the state.”
