CHESTERTON— State Senator Rodney Pol Jr. (D-Chesterton) is calling on Congress to protect the Indiana Dunes National Park and all national parks by passing the Reducing Waste in National Parks Act. Senator Pol made the following statement:
“Three years ago, the Indiana Dunes officially became a National Park, cementing its place among the most unique and important places in the United States. Protecting the Indiana Dunes for future generations is a challenge that will take all of us. Congress has an important opportunity to do just that by reducing plastic pollution in our national parks by eliminating the sale and distribution of single-use plastics at our national parks.”
“I call upon all members of Indiana’s Congressional delegation to support and co-author this common-sense conservation measure that will help protect one of our state’s and our nation’s most important parks.”
