INDIANAPOLIS— Today, Senator Fady Qaddoura’s (D-Indianapolis) bipartisan legislation with Senator Travis Holdman, Senate Bill 236, passed out of the Senate unanimously. SB 236 will expand eligibility for senior citizens on fixed income to qualify for a property tax credit. Senator Qaddoura made the following comments:
“I am thrilled that SB 236 passed the Senate unanimously today. I’ve heard from many citizens across the state about the impact of rising housing costs during the pandemic, which increased property taxes for many Hoosiers, especially senior citizens on fixed incomes. This bipartisan legislation will directly benefit Hoosiers and improve seniors’ ability to afford living expenses such as housing and prescription costs.”
