INDIANAPOLIS—The Senate Pensions and Labor Committee passed Senate Bill (SB) 63 with a vote of 11-0. State Senator David Niezgodski (D-South Bend) released the following statement:
“I am incredibly excited for our first Pensions and Labor meeting of the new year to include the passage of the 13th Check,” said Niezgodski. “Moving this bill forward in the beginning days of session sends a clear message to our retired teachers and public employees that we hold their service to our Hoosier State in the highest regard.”
The bill was amended in committee to reflect language found in House Bill (HB) 1145.
“As this bill moves further along, I will continue to strive for chamber-wide support,” said Niezgodski. “I look forward to seeing this bill through the process and am grateful for my colleagues’ support.”
