Exciting news! My bill, SB 468, has been officially signed by the Governor! This legislation establishes the Midwest Continental Divide Commission, which will focus on economic development and trail expansion across the region.![]()
Through bipartisan efforts, the Commission received $2 million each year for the next 20 years in the budget! This will go toward creating a connected trail system that links local attractions—such as Potato Creek State Park and the Indiana Dinosaur Museum, an idea that has been discussed for years.![]()
I'm proud to bring this win home to District 10, and I’m excited for the growth and opportunities it will bring to our community!![]()

Notre Dame had half a dozen players picked in the 2025 NFL Draft. Here's when and where they went, plus info on undrafted free agents.
As we leave this building in the early hours of Friday, April 25, I reflect on the 2025 legislative session. We voted on HB 1001, the state budget, which included positive provisions for St. Joseph County:
• Funding for South Shore project completion
• Funding for the Midwest Continental Divide for trails
• Provisions for an Innovation Development District
I was happy to support a budget that represents economic development in Senate District 10.![]()

This week marks National Work Zone Awareness Week. In 2024, there were around 7,000 crashes in work zones in our state including 30 deaths. Remember to continue focusing on the road during work zones and plan accordingly to traffic and construction. Your efforts will tremendously impact our infrastructure and keep all Hoosiers safe. #INForAll
Today, I served as a conferee on the Conference Committee discussing HB 1001, the state budget. We had a productive conversation informed by the revenue forecast released last week. It’s clear we need to explore ways to reduce spending and reprioritize the budget to ensure critical programs—like Medicaid and public education—are adequately funded. I look forward to continued discussions to make sure Hoosiers are well supported by their government. #INForAll
