Today in Pensions and Labor committee, we heard testimony and passed Senate Bill 418-expanding upon the list of public safety officers whose families receive benefits if the officer dies in the line of duty. I have supported this bill in the past and am happy to support it when it comes before Appropriations next.
Today SB 306 was heard in the Tax and Fiscal Committee. I’m pleased to be a co-author on this bill which will create a tax credit for media productions. Our Hoosier State has brought forth great talent throughout the years. Growing and retaining our entertainment industry will even further stimulate our economy. Let’s give the Crossroads of America passage to become home to our future rising stars!
Today, we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., whose fight for racial equality shaped America. Let’s reflect on his legacy by treating everyone with respect and dignity, regardless of the color of their skin.
Both my focus today and this session is on the budget. In appropriations and state budget committees, we heard testimony on SB 2, which would limit access to health care services, and Gov. Braun's budget proposal for FY 26 and 27. I am committed to making sure all Hoosier voices are heard. Click here to read more about the committee: bit.ly/42jsWK6

Pensions and Labor heard SB 388 this morning; an increase in pensions for police officers and firefighters having 20 years or more of service. As this bill proceeds, the betterment of lives of our Public Safety officers and their families will always be of prime importance in my decision making.
