I appreciate the Hindu Temple of Central IN for inviting me to their celebration. The rich diversity that all Hoosier communities infuse into our civic fabric makes IN a more fair, inclusive and welcoming state where all citizens feel that they belong. #InForAll
Today, I visited with neighbors in Pike Township to learn more about policies that impact our community. The top three concerns that were shared with me: cost of healthcare, underfunding of public schools, and politicians making healthcare decisions for women. It’s my commitment to work tirelessly for residents of Senate District 30 to protect families, restore freedoms, and secure a better future for all.
I had the honor of speaking with Latinx professionals enrolled in the AXIS Leadership Development program (Indiana Latino Expo) about servant leadership, authenticity, purpose, and the importance of representation. Let's empower all members of our community to reach their full potential so that we can make Indiana a more fair, inclusive, and welcoming state for all.
We Remember. On this solemn day, we pause to reflect on the events of September 11, 2001. The bravery of our first responders, the resilience of survivors, and the strength of our nation in the face of adversity continue to inspire us all.Let’s honor the memory of those we lost by coming together in compassion and unity, ensuring that their legacies live on in the way we care for each other and our communities.
I was honored to speak at the IAPSS - Indiana Association of Public School Superintendents Conference about the importance of supporting the needs of one million students in traditional public schools. The state funding formula negatively impacts students who are:• Minority • English Language Learners • From socially and economically disadvantaged backgrounds • Medically vulnerable It is my commitment to advocate for fair and equitable funding for traditional public schools after suffering from underfunding for almost two decades.
