🛑 Teaching Consent Should Never Be Optional ![]()
In conference committee on SB 442, it was stated that schools can opt out of teaching consent — but must mandatorily teach about child development. ![]()
Let that sink in: We’ll teach how bodies develop, but not that you have the right to say no. ![]()
📍 In Indiana, 1 in 5 women are raped. ![]()
But this isn’t just about girls. Consent protects everyone — women and men alike. ![]()
Every child deserves to know they have agency over their body. ![]()
Consent isn’t controversial. It’s common sense. ![]()
Making it optional is dangerous. #INForAll #TeachConsent
Hi friends and neighbors! 💙![]()
Here's this week’s weekly recap! Tune in next week for more updates! #INForAll
The Senate concurred on SB 463, and I was proud to author this legislation as one step toward creating accessible and affordable child care infrastructure in Indiana. This bill gives student volunteers a chance to be trained and contribute, ensures our staff ratios are reasonable and competitive with neighboring states and strengthens our early learning system overall. For so many Hoosier families, access to affordable, reliable child care is what makes it possible to go to work each day. While SB 463 is about making that access easier, there is still much more work to make this a reality, and I’m grateful to see this move forward.

The Governor just announced an executive order on “supporting local food access.” Meanwhile, the President ended Indiana’s Farm to School grants with no warning—cutting off:![]()

🍅 Nutritious, Indiana-grown food for our students![]()
Here’s the part they won’t say: I filed a bill this session—SB 277—to address this exact issue. It would have created a grant program for schools to buy fresh produce directly from local farmers. It was good for our kids, good for our economy, good for farmers, and good for public health. But it never even got a hearing.![]()
Indiana families and farmers deserve more than empty gestures. We need real solutions—like SB 277—that put our students, communities and agriculture first. I’m not done fighting for that. #INForAll
None of the amendments I offered on House Bill 1001 were adopted, but that doesn’t mean the fight is over. ![]()
I will continue to bring these ideas forward, to listen, to advocate, and to work toward a future where our policies reflect the people we serve. ![]()
For a brighter future for all Hoosiers. #INForAll
