INDIANAPOLIS—On Thursday, Indiana House Representatives sent SB 326 to the Governor’s desk to be signed into law. SB 326 allows more of South Bend’s tax revenue to be captured by the city’s professional sports and convention development area. State Senator David Niezgodski (D-South Bend) commented on its passage:

“I’m incredibly proud that SB 326 is headed to the Governor’s desk to be signed into law. This legislation is a leg up for the City of South Bend and its residents. SB 326 allows our city to play fully to its strength—creating exceptional spaces for community and enhancing quality of life for citizens. Four Winds Field, along with other city institutions like the Morris Performing Arts Center, is going to be able to make key improvements and help spur development in South Bend and beyond. I was grateful to see strong bipartisan support for this commonsense effort and am thankful to the other authors and the sponsors of this bill for the work they’ve done to get this through.”
