🚨 Two Major Bill Signings 🚨🧬 HB 1521 was the House version of my bill, SB 33, which puts guardrails and guidelines in place for how your genetic privacy is handled. After working on this language for two years, we finally passed it with bipartisan support. 👷I was also proud to sponsor Rep. Carey Hamilton’s HB 1289. This bill expands the definition of workforce-related programs to include a work-based learning or transitional jobs program, supporting our state’s workforce and addressing recidivism. ➡️ Both of these bills are a testament to the work our legislature can get done when everyone is committed to collaboration and keeping the needs of Hoosiers at the forefront. 💪🏾#INForAll ... Sayonara sellouts 🛫To the Indiana Republicans who were beckoned to D.C. to be a part of this administration’s latest scheme, we see you. No matter how much you try to hide, Hoosiers see you too, and they deserve a whole lot better than your brand of politics. I made two calls to my Republican colleagues at a press conference in the Indianapolis Airport ⬇️⬇️⬇️➡️ If you support this ill-disguised power grab, commit to forgoing your taxpayer-funded daily allowance if we have a special session.➡️ Ditching Hoosiers for D.C.? Provide proof that not a single cent of taxpayer dollars was used for it. We are waiting. ⏳ #INForAll ... See MoreSee Less

📢 Don’t slash our benefits! 📢Trump’s budget bill is the single largest transfer of wealth from middle and low-income families to the wealthy. ⬇️🚨Our lowest-income families lose $1,200 a year in resources, while the wealthy see over $13,000 in tax breaks.🚨In Indiana, this means an estimated 260,000 folks losing Medicaid and expected cuts to SNAP benefits. Thank you to Common Cause for creating the space to support and educate one another while we continue to advocate for the working families who make this state great, not the interests of billionaires.💙💪🏾 #INForAll ... Thank you to the Indy Black Chamber of Commerce for your tireless advocacy and support of Black and Minority owned businesses.

The work you all do only adds to the significance of being the recipient of this year's Bill Crawford Politician of the Year Award.

The weight of being honored with an award bearing the name of Rep. Bill Cawford is not lost on me.

Rep. Crawford served District 98 in our Statehouse for 40 years, to my knowledge, the longest tenure for a Black state legislator in our country's history.

As the first Black Chairman of Ways and Means, he wrote three state budgets; his commitment to our state, our city and every Hoosier shining through each.

I am proud to call Indy home, to work for you and to stand alongside in our fight to make IN better every day. #INForAll 💙

Scoop: A majority of Indiana voters oppose mid-decade redistricting in their state, per a new poll, as White House officials host Hoosier Republicans in Washington Tuesday.
