INDIANAPOLIS—Last month, State Senator Jean Breaux (D-Indianapolis) was honored by The National Foundation for Women Legislators (NFWL) as a 2023 Elected Woman of Excellence Award winner.
The winners were nominated by colleagues and constituents from their home states, before being chosen by a distinguished panel of NFWL members.
From the NFWL: this award was created to identify women who have worked tirelessly, often breaking down barriers and overcoming obstacles that once seemed insurmountable, to serve their communities. These pacesetters have engendered an environment where women can now serve in public office and fight for the issues, they are passionate about.
Senator Jean Breaux released the following statement:
“It was a joy to join NFWL for their 2023 Annual Conference last month, and it was truly an honor to be recognized alongside dozens of incredible women as a 2023 Elected Women of Excellence Award Winner.
“Each year, I strive to serve my district and state by introducing, supporting and advancing good public policy. My goal is always to improve life for the people who call Indiana home. I will continue fighting and advocating for policies that allow Hoosier citizens to live successful lives. It is an extreme privilege to serve the people of Senate District 34 and I look forward to continuing my work on their behalf this upcoming legislative session.”
