This afternoon, I kicked off my annual summer “Door to Door Community Conversations” in the Crooked Creek Neighborhood. I enjoyed meeting with residents to learn about issues that matter most to them. I firmly believe that elected officials work for their constituents, not the other way around. It’s my commitment to always be accessible and responsive to my community. I’m honored to work for you.
I’m thrilled to share that Senate District 30 has received funding from the Indianapolis MPO to build a long-awaited bridge over the Monon Trail at 86th Street ($5.9 M) and the Nickel Plate Bridge over 82nd Street ($7 M)! These projects will greatly improve safety and connectivity for everyone who walks, bikes and enjoys the trails. ![]()
Since being elected, I’ve fiercely advocated for investing in trails and greenways—including successfully securing $60 M in the 2023 Budget to fund the Next Level Trails, which funded the Nickel Plate Trail. ![]()
This wouldn’t have been possible without the relentless efforts and collaboration between community leaders, city councilors, the City of Indianapolis, and state legislators representing the Northside of Indy.![]()
Together, we’re building a safer, more connected future.

This weekend, I was grateful to speak with members of the Laborers’ International Union of North America - LiUNA (Laborers' Local 120) about the 2025 legislative session and my ongoing efforts to support creating and sustaining construction jobs across Indiana. It’s my commitment to advance a policy agenda that protects working-class families.![]()
Unions are the cornerstone of workers’ rights. It’s essential that we support them & their families: safe working conditions, fair compensation and secure financial futures.![]()

I’m grateful to everyone who showed up to the Greenhouse Symposium at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church. I appreciate Senior Pastor Rob Fuquay for his support, and Larry Kane and the Creation Care Ministry for championing pro-environmental programs and supporting my annual tree giveaway! Thank you to all of the groups that participated and community members who took home a tree seedling to plant, making our community and state a healthier and greener place.![]()
