🔒🧬 Protecting your DNA privacy! 🧬🔒I am so grateful that my daughters joined me in filing my first bill for the 2025 session. 💙My bill, which would provide privacy protections for DNA and genetic material, passed the Senate unanimously last year but did not get a hearing in the House. 🚨⭐️ It is so important that Indiana protects the privacy of Hoosiers, and this bill would address a critical blind spot. I am looking forward to working with my Statehouse colleagues to better protect Hoosiers! ✨ #InForAll
🚨 The 124th General Assembly is here! 🚨Org Day officially kicked off the 2025 Budget Session, and I could not help but feel immense gratitude for the trust you have put in me to be your voice in the Statehouse. I will always do everything I can to represent our communities, the concerns we share and the values we hold dear. 💫✨It is an honor, every day, to be able to serve the place I call home. 💙#InForAll
🚨 Session is almost here! 🚨With the session officially starting tomorrow, our interim time is coming to a close. As legislators, we use the time between sessions to learn more about topics affecting the state so that we can have more well-informed legislation during the sessions. ➡️This interim, I had the privilege of serving on the Interim Study Committees on Education; Employment and Labor; Energy, Utilities, and Telecommunications; Pension Management Oversight; and Roads and Transportation ➡️Additionally, I served on the Indiana Behavioral Health Commission, Interagency State Council on Black and Minority Health, Doula Reimbursement Advisory Board, Health Care Cost Oversight Task Force, Medicaid Advisory Committee and the Indiana White River State Park Development Commission. It has been a distinct honor to represent Senate District 46 in the statehouse during this interim, and I cannot wait to continue to do so during the 124th General Assembly! 💫💙#InForAll
Honoring those who first called this place home. 💙It was such a pleasure to be able to attend the reopening of the Angel Mounds Historic Site in Southern Indiana. This site was originally home to Mississippian Culture and still houses magnificent earthen mounds that were used to elevate important buildings and for other ceremonial purposes. We started the day with a smoking ritual to prepare us to honor such a sacred space, before admiring the transformed interpretive center. It was a privilege to be amongst Tribal leaders from the Quapaw, Miami and Shawnee Tribes while being in a space that celebrates the stories and traditions of the tribes whose ancestors created this site. ⭐️Thank you to those who have worked on creating a space that celebrates such an integral piece of our state's history#InForAllorAll
🔋 Powering the future of Indiana 🔋I was able to tour the D.C. Cook Nuclear Power Plant with Rep. Chris Judy. Though the plant is in Michigan, 80% of the power produced in this facility ends up in our state. I was impressed by not only the immense size of the facility, but also the profound commitment to safety throughout. ⭐️Thank you to Chief Nuclear Officer Kelly Ferneau for the tour and the warm welcome! I am looking forward to continuing to examine how nuclear power can help shape Indiana’s energy future! ⚡️#INForAll
