Indianapolis—Today, State Senator Shelli Yoder (D-Bloomington) attended the White House State Legislative Convening on Reproductive Rights. During this event, Senator Yoder met with 80 other legislators from 41 states to highlight state-level attacks on reproductive rights and discuss a path forward for ensuring every American has access to all reproductive healthcare.
“I am honored to be selected to join this important discussion at the national level. Indiana’s attacks on abortion and all reproductive healthcare have been about nothing more than controlling women and their bodies, and the nation has taken note. These attacks and the total abortion ban remove opportunities for women to access safety and independence, and will ultimately be fatal to those who cannot get the care they need for complicated pregnancies. I am grateful to have this opportunity to meet with other legislators and White House officials to discuss how we can restore autonomy and reproductive independence to Hoosiers and all women across the nation.”
