CHESTERTON—State Senator Rodney Pol Jr. (D-Chesterton) has been selected to be a 2024 Bowhay Institute for Legislative Leadership Development (BILLD) Fellow. Senator Pol released the following statement:

“It is one of the highest honors to have been selected as a 2024 BILLD Fellow. I am looking forward to further developing my leadership skills as a legislator. This program will provide me with valuable insight on how to better serve my community, our legislature, and our state.

“BILLD’s curriculum includes a series of leadership training courses and professional development workshops in areas such as conflict resolution, negotiation, consensus building, public speaking, and time management.  The program also includes expert-led policy seminars and sessions led by the region’s legislative leaders, as well as, networking and relationship building among legislative leaders.

“I am thrilled to collaborate with other Midwest Fellows this August by exchanging our unique perspectives and strengthening our leadership skills. I hope to come away with an experience that provides all legislators from across the Midwest with an understanding of how we can all positively impact our communities. I am beyond grateful for this opportunity to learn and grow, and I extend my heartfelt thanks to BILLD for my selection to this amazing program.”
