I am so proud to have multiple bills I co-sponsored pass through on Third Reading.HB 1132 addresses the Indiana finance authority and its obligation to provide staff support for the Indiana Stadium and Convention Building Authority Board. I am also proud of HB 1585 which provides perpetual care funding for veteran cemeteries.Hoosier Veterans who served for our country and safety need care for their final resting places and there needs to be uniformity in the code for staff support in Indiana stadiums and Conventions to strong provide services for our great state.#INForAll ... Hoosiers, it has been an incredibly important week as a member of the Appropriations Committee. We listened to testimonies and evaluated budgets for higher education institutions like Indiana University, to the various departments of Indiana like Education or Transportation. I’m working with my colleagues to ensure your tax dollars strengthening our state in making Indiana a place for growth and innovation. I also want to thank all of you who were able to make it to the Town Hall last Saturday in Highland. You all have many concerns regarding bills like SB 1 and SB 518 and it's my duty to take these concerns to the legislature. Your public services and schools are a top priority for the legislature to work for. Property taxes should be reduced, but not at the expense of our schools or services. I encourage you all to reach out and let your voices be heard by the legislature and the Governor as we work to make Indiana an equitable state that works for all. Sincerely, Lonnie Randolph ... Friends, I heard important testimony in the Insurance and Financial Institutions Committee over HB 1441, which would allow qualified youth as legally competent to enter into a contract with a bank or credit union. In practice, HB 1441 allows young adults to open a savings or checking account with consent of the Department of Child Services or a juvenile court with jurisdiction over the qualified youth. This will help our foster youth who need all the support they can get. The money they receive and earned should be theirs; HB1441 will ensure that. #INForAll ... See MoreSee Less

Hoosiers, the Appropriations committee today heard the voices of our numerous higher education institutions as we set funds for their various programs. Their financial support is crucial for our state as we aim to be one of the top states for higher education that offers top-notch programs. As we aim to attract and retain talent, I will support our many universities and colleges. #INForAll ... See MoreSee Less

I’m celebrating our heritage with the Indiana Black Legislative Caucus by wearing my stole. Our community has made such strides forward, but there is still work to be done. Take the time today to understand how you can contribute to defending the rights of all. #INForAll

HB 1441 has passed out of Insurance and Financial Institutions. This bill would allow qualified youth as legally-competent to open a savings or checking account in the qualified youth's name with consent of the Dept. of Child Services or an appropriate juvenile court. #INForAll

Hoosier Seniors are in the Statehouse to advocate for more care and connect with key services for their well-being. Seniors face many issues in health care and stable housing and it’s my goal to aid our elderly to ensure their opportunity for a strong quality of life. #INForAll
